Richie is a business lawyer with a diverse area of practice. Having worked in both Hong Kong and Vancouver, he understands both the Western and Chinese markets and values. COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS: purchase and sale of businesses ranging from restaurants serving Chinese, Korean and Italian cuisines; manufacturing companies in wood, flooring and metal works; trading companies in produce, fashion and skin care; hair salons; franchises in the food and education sectors; financial brokerages; schools and daycare centres; travel agencies; and a commercial airliner

CORPORATE AND SECURITIES: incorporated various companies including Personal Real Estate Corporations (PREC); accounting firms; law corporations; federal companies; mortgage investment corporations; holding companies and more; strategized corporate restructuring for startups and seasoned companies; assisted and executed tax rollovers and corporate amalgamations; reviewed and advised secured transactions including exempt market deals; and assisted in the securitization of hundreds of re-financing transactions

NONPROFITS: advised nonprofit service organizations on applying for charity status; assisted housing societies in negotiating with government agencies about financing and grants; and bridging non-profits with the business community

REAL ESTATE: dealt with land acquisition from Vancouver to Port Hardy; assisted with permit and rezoning applications; drafted disclosure statements for townhouse projects; assisted in the conveyance of hundreds of residential properties; dealt and registered builder’s liens; reviewed and negotiated commercial leases; assisted in construction loans in the excess of $50 million dollars

TECHNOLOGY: advised and assisted companies specializing in crypto-mining; block-chain technologies; e-commerce; and software companies

WILLS AND ESTATE PLANNING: assisted in the registration of international probate orders; and drafted B.C. probate applications, wills, power of attorneys, representation agreements, and trust agreements for individuals from all walks of life.

Apart from his professional work, Richie frequently hosts seminars regarding wills and estate planning, and real estate. He has been invited to provide legal insights for audiences on local radio talk shows.  He travels to various cities to participate in conferences and summits. Richie is committed to strengthening the local business community, so he regularly attends and organizes networking events.
